about bullshit

this is where i tell you crap about me. fuck that.

ok fine. A little back story:

I started sewing the other day.

It was a fairly long time coming, but not entirely unpredictable.  I have an 1978 BMW motorcycle that I’ve been working on and customizing and I wanted to sew my own seat.  This led to pulling out the cheap sewing machine I had in the closet but had never used and giving it a whirl.  After many completely unsuccessful attempts (and significant profanity) to just sew a decent stitch in “regular” fabric , I gave up and borrowed a buddy’s 60 year old Singer 301A.

I hadn’t sewed anything since Junior high but I found a manual for the machine online and got the job done pretty well!  This success gave me the bug.

Months passed.  I half-heartedly searched the interwebs for the perfect machine to replace the piece of shit I had, but I was overwelmed by options.  My wife kept her eyes open in the thrift stores, but no machines were purchased.  Finally in the beginning of March I said “fuck it”, went to a local sewing shop that gave me a good vibe and bought my first real sewing machine – a Janome HD-1000 – as a birthday present to myself…  this is the story of my angry sewing adventures.  oh yeah, I’m frequently angry…
